College Golf: Stanford sits atop Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll for Div. I women’s golf to open spring season

Stanford, Anderson, Emory and Keiser are all starting the women’s golf spring season at the top.

In the latest Women’s Golf Coaches Association Mizuno WGCA Coaches Polls, those are the No. 1-ranked teams in the first polls of the spring 2025 season.

Indiana Finishes 15th at Chevron Collegiate

HOUSTON – The Indiana Hoosiers women’s golf team finished 15th at the Chevron Collegiate held at the Golf Club of Houston from Feb. 24-25. The Hoosiers shot an 885 (299-293-293; +21).

Top Indiana Player: Caroline Smith – 215 (71-71-73; -1)

CHIP-INS

• Redshirt senior Caroline Smith signed for her third scorecard under par in her last four events with a 215 (71-71-73; -1). She was the low Hoosier for the week and tied for 31st overall. Smith converted 10 birdies tries across the three rounds, which included a team-best six in the second round of play. 

• Redshirt junior Maddie May played a 224 (76-74-74; +8) with six birdies to her credit.

• Junior Madison Dabagia shot a 225 (76-75-74; +9) with eight circles on her scorecard. She knocked down five birdie putts in the second round.

• Senior Beatriz Junqueira recorded a 225 (76-77-72; +9) with five birdies. Her third round 72 marked the second lowest round of her fourth season in Bloomington.

• Freshman Cara Heisterkamp carded a 226 (78-73-75; +10) with six birdies and the lone Hoosier eagle of the event on the Par-4, 327-yard fifth hole in the final round of play.

Indiana will open March at the Clover Cup hosted by Notre Dame. The three-day, 54-hole event will begin on Monday, March 10, at the Wigwam Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.
