Brooke Biermann Tied for Individual Lead, Three MSU Golfers Among Top-20

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s women’s golf team fired a tournament-best 7-under par 281 in the second round and moved atop the leaderboard heading into the final round of the Big Ten Championship.

The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at Bulle Rock Golf Course (par 72, 6,325 yards) in Havre de Grace, Md.
How Low Can You Go?
The Spartans had three players go under par and moved into first place in the 18-team field after Saturday’s round.
Michigan State leads the tournament at 3-under par 573 (292-281), three shots ahead of Oregon, in second at even-par 576. Illinois is in third place (2-over par 578), with Ohio State fourth at 6-over par 582, while Wisconsin and
Northwestern round out the top-five teams at 8-over par 584).
MSU’s score of 7-under par 281 is the program’s second-best single round score in the Big Ten Championship, two shots off the record set by the 2024 team last year on the same course.
Senior Brooke Biermann carded a 3-under par 69 in the second round, with five birdies, and is tied for the individual lead at 3-under par 141 (72-69).

Ana Sofia Murcia fires four consecutive birdies on 15-18 to finish her round with a 68.


Junior Taylor Kehoe posted one of three under-par rounds for MSU on Saturday with a 1-under par 71 (three birdies, 13 pars). Kehoe is tied for fifth place at 1-under par 143 (72-71).
Senior Katie Lu shot a 1-over par 73 in the second round and is one three Spartans among the top-20 overall, tied for 17th place at 1-over par 145 (72-73).
Sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia had the team’s best round of the day on Saturday, firing a 4-under par 68, her best career round. She moved from 68th place to a tie for 22nd place at 2-over par 146 (78-68).
Top Ten B1G Women in Singles

Junior Paula Balanzategui shot a 1-over par 73 on Saturday and is tied for 42nd place at 5-over par 149 (76-73).
The Spartans will tee off in Sunday’s final round starting at 9:40 a.m., playing alongside Oregon and Illinois.
