The UM Allister McKenzie-designed course will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2031. McKenzie is known for using the available land to its full potential, along with core principles, to build arguably the top golf course designs in Europe, Australia, and the US. Using routing principles, camouflage techniques, and big backdrops among his 13 core principles, other golf course designers adopted them, and golf course design often has a McKenzie feel. After UM built its golf course, Ohio State also commissioned McKenzie for their own signature course. UM golf course GM Andrew Romig talks to us about the course, key holes, and how the public can play at UM.
