Michigan State Sweeps Women’s Golf Weekly Awards
Spartans’ Kehoe and Valderrama earn weekly merits after St Andrews performances
ROSEMONT, lll. – Michigan State senior Taylor Kehoe has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week, and teammate Lucia Valderrama earned Freshman of the Week, for tournaments from October 9-16.
Golfer of the Week
Taylor Kehoe, Michigan State
Senior – Strathroy, Ontario, Canada – Strathroy District Collegiate Institute – Public Relations
- Finished in sixth place at 1-under par 143 (71-72) at the St Andrews Links Collegiate
- The senior, who closed with an even-par 72, was tied for fourth place in the field with seven birdies and tied for 10th place with 23 pars
- Posted a 5up win in match play
Freshman of the Week
Lucia Valderrama, Michigan State
Freshman – Valencia, Spain – Blume Elite High School – Agriculture & Natural Resources
- Tied for 21st place at the St Andrews Links Collegiate with a 13-over par 157 (78-79)
- The rookie posted a 1up win in match play
- Recorded three birdies throughout the two rounds

· Tied for second place with a four-under par 136 (66-70) at the St Andrews Links Collegiate, played on the Jubilee Course in St Andrews, Scotland
· Played 32-of-36 holes at or below par during stroke play, including eight birdies and an eagle
· Fired a five-under par 67 and won his match, 4up, against Winston Margaritis of St Andrews
