We have all heard by now. Denny Hamlin led the field with four laps left at Phoenix when William Byron hit the wall after cutting a tire and taking his second-place run into a Kyle Larson 2025 Championship. The truth is, Hamlin takes four tires when most of the lead pack takes two and gives away his track position to a restart in eighth. Hamlin was buried by restart traffic, and Larson raced mostly in the open air. Hamlin’s 208 laps led meant nothing as Larson finished third and ahead of the #11. Ryan Blaney won the race , and Hamlin was left wondering what happened and about his NASCAR future. Larson wins the Championship as the leading point getter and the first CHAMP to not win a playoff race in the year of being crowned. Brian Twining of x and Bob Francis break it all down.
