NFL Week 12 – Lions last lightweight team before strong finish to the season
The Lions win ugly with a late rally and Gibbs big run

The Detroit Lions would not go away. They NEVER lead in the football game until OT. Detroit tried to impersonate the SOL for much of the game against the overmatched Giants, but found a way to do just enough to force a tie late in the game until Jahmyr Gibbs willed his way into the end zone from 69-yards out and Detroit wins 34-27.
One Up Amon-Ra St. Brown

It took a while for St. Brown to get going. Infrequent targets, a few dropped passes and then St. Brown caught a barrage of passes. Nine catches for 149 yards and a TD woke up the team. Goff seemed to struggle early in the game. St. Brown went over the 500 career catch mark during the game. This is good for third all-time for Detroit.
Two Up- Detroit kept a very good trend going against NY

Detroit can go back to the 2022 season as they have not lost B2B games dating back 55 games early three years ago. The Lions won ugly. It happens in the NFL. They better get it together or this stat will come to an end.
Three Up- Jahmyr Gibbs
Who else could it be? Gibbs has been spectacular this season. His stat line on Sunday of 14-219 and 2TD’s and a 14 yard rush per carry. He added 11 receptions for 45 yards and another TD for three on the day with 12 targets. Gibbs was both the check-down back and the primary receiver.

One Down- Tricks are for the Detroit Lions defense
The Lions lived for the first four seasons of Dan Campbell’s reign by going for it on fourth down and trick plays. Not so much this season. NY burned Detroit twice on Sunday with a Jameis winston 39 yard TD throw to Wan’Dale Robinson. Later, Winston would catch a TD pass and it looked like Detroit was out of the game.
Two Down- Team Stats favor the Giants
St. Brown and Gibbs starred for the Lions, but it was a struggle. NY really looked better than the Lions most of the day. The Giants defense often forced Goff to check down and punished the Lions with three sacks, six TFL’s, 3 passes defensed and seven QB hits on Goff. The TOP also favored the visitors.

Three Down
Once again, Jameson Williams had no catches. This has been a lost season for him. It’s tough to be unproductive when you are not seeing the ball thrown your way.
