Most people call this golf’s silly season. It’s not silly for most of the players in the PNC Championship. This is a chance for the field to plan in the spotlight with those that got them to the TOUR such as Nelly Korda, or showcase a loved one who can play a little golf such as late addition Gary Woodland.

The players play for different reasons, and a few have dominated the tournament. Jason and Bernhard Langer have won 4 times, dating back to 2012. Lee Trevino has not missed this tournament since it first started in 1995 and he has some game still. Padraig and Paddy Harrington should be in the mix as will Steve Stricker and his daughter Izzy, who plays NCAA golf at the University of Wisconsin. The best part for fans will be to see players that occasionally play on TV, and some that appear frequently such as Nelly Korda, Stewart Cinc and Padraig Harrington. It’s a two-person scramble and the winner is usually 20 under par or better.
