They Said It…

Jing Yan (1st, -14) on how she handled her nerves being in the final group for the first time
“I think I just tried to enjoy it. I knew I was going to be a little bit nervous not having really been in this position before, but I have been kind of in the later tee times and there have been times where I haven’t handled it very well. So just trying to figure out what really works for me and, yeah, try to make a space where I can play my best. Yeah, give it my best of the and enjoy it, yeah.”

Lottie Woad (2nd, -13) on what she is going to take into the final round from her past wins
“Yeah, I think definitely a lot. I’ve been a few final groups now and it’s gone my way on a couple occasions. But obviously if someone plays better than you it’s going to go their way. I think just trying to get off to a good start and try and get back ahead and push early and just keep putting the pressure on is what we’re going to try to do.”

Cassie Porter (3rd, -12) on what she needed to rely on with changing course conditions
“Yeah, I think it’s definitely a time where you need to rely on your processes a lot, and just reminding ourselves that, as I said couple days ago, it’s all not that bad. Like we’re out here. We’re having a great time. The fans here are incredible. So just looking up and seeing them, they’re all so cheerful and happy to be here, so I think that’s been really good for us. Yeah, just sticking to processes mostly.”

In Gee Chun (T4, -11) on how she will build of her 7-under third round
“Just try to take all the good parts from today to tomorrow. Just keep doing all the same, just have a good round tomorrow, have a good sleep and just practice a little bit and just keep the same game plan tomorrow. First thing, I’m just trying to enjoy all the process. I think that’s the key because mental is really important.”
Wei Ling Hsu (T4, -11) on her 4-under 68 third round
“It was really good day, especially front nine. I play really, really good. There is a lot of iron shot exactly where I want to go, and it just leave me a lot of birdie opportunity. I also putt very well, especially like I think seven, eight, nine, like three in a row. So that’s really good. I enjoyed it.”

Riley Smyth (T7, -9) on making her first cut of the year
“Yeah, I mean, obviously making my first cut is definitely super thrilling this week. You know, struggled at the beginning of the year just to kind of get the game going and get the game sharp. But I knew it was coming, so it was kind of just a waiting game. So definitely took the time to enjoy that last night, but locked back in for today and just had some good mojo coming into today. You know, definitely the adrenaline going and then the
crowds out there, fed off those. I mean, really, really great crowds this week, so I was able to feed off that and kind of get some birdies going today.”
