WTGL’s Inaugural Match – WTGL launches its inaugural season with Los Angeles Golf Club facing New York Golf Club at
the award-winning SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The six-player lineup combines 35 LPGA Tour victories, four
major championships, 14 Solheim Cup appearances and four Olympians. The six players represent the United States,
Mexico, New Zealand and Sweden. New York Golf Club’s Rose Zhang will hit the opening shot in WTGL history followed by
Los Angeles Golf Club’s Michelle Wie West, in a competition that will test players’ creativity, shot-making and ability to
make decisions together under pressure. With players mic’d up throughout the match, fans will hear the strategy,
reactions and banter as WTGL’s first six competitors begin to establish their team’s identities.
Wie West serves as host of the LPGA Tour’s Mizuho Americas Open in New Jersey, where her NYGC opponent, Zhang, won
in her pro debut at the inaugural event in 2023.
Wie West, the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champion and a five-time LPGA Tour winner, enters WTGL after returning to LPGA
competition for two starts in 2026. Lydia Ko brin

gs 23 LPGA Tour victories, three major titles, LPGA Hall of Fame
membership and a complete set of Olympic gold, silver and bronze medals. Both became international stars as teenagers
and now help launch a new team competition for women’s golf.
Perfect at the Solheim Cup – Alison Lee (LA) and Linn Grant (NY) enter WTGL following matching 4-0-0 performances at
the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands, sharing the best record among the 24 competitors. The two will tee off against
each other on corresponding holes and will square off in Singles. Lee completed her week by rallying from 4 down with
seven holes remaining to defeat Esther Henseleit, 1 up. Grant won three matches with Maja Stark before defeating Angel
Yin, 4 and 3, in singles to help Europe win, 15-13. Zhang (NYGC) finished 2-2-0, giving the three opening-match players
who competed at Bernardus a combined 10-2-0 record.

An Established TGL Rivalry Comes to WTGL – Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club have already ended one
another’s seasons at SoFi Center. New York defeated top-seeded LAGC, 6-4, in the 2025 TGL Semifinals. Los Angeles Golf
Club responded with a 6-3 regular-season victory in 2026 that eliminated New York from playoff contention before LAGC
went on to win the SoFi Cup. Their WTGL teams now begin the pursuit of the league’s inaugural championship.
