Rocket Mortgage Highlights
The 313 is backin 2024 and plenty of celebrities, Detroit area NFL players past and present, the MIZ and PGA Players will be there.
These stars will be joining Aidan Hutchinson, Calvin Johnson, Chris Webber and Tom Izzo, who have already committed to play:
· “The Miz” – Professional wrestler and actor; Has been on the main WWE roster since 2006; Won 21 overall championships in WWE; Made his debut in the AREA 313 Celebrity Scramble presented by Priority Health Total Health Foundation last year.
· Sam Merrill – Professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers; Nicknamed “Sammy Buckets,” he was the last pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and won a ring with the Milwaukee Bucks during his rookie season. He averaged 17.5 minutes and 8.0 points per game last season, his second season with the team.
PGA TOUR pros scheduled to compete include:
· Rickie Fowler – A six-time PGA TOUR winner, Fowler registered eight top-10 finishes last season. He has played on five Ryder Cup teams, appeared in three Presidents Cups and represented the United States in the 2016 Olympic Games. Fowler has played in the Rocket Mortgage Classic each year, with two top-12 finishes, including his victory last year.
· Min Woo Lee – The 25-year-old Australian has won four times internationally and is ranked 36th in the world. Since 2022, he has three top-20 finishes in major championships. He will make his Rocket Mortgage Classic debut.
· Tom Kim – Kim is already a three-time PGA TOUR winner before his 22nd birthday. The South Korea native was a member of the International team at the 2022 Presidents Cup, and last season finished top 10 in both the U.S. Open and The Open Championship. In his Rocket Mortgage Classic debut in 2022, he finished seventh.
· Matt Kuchar – A nine-time PGA TOUR winner who has played in five Presidents Cups and four Ryder Cups.
· Will Zalatoris – Zalatoris returned from a back injury that cut short his 2023 season and has already secured three top-10 finishes this season, including a T9 at The Masters. Zalatoris has performed exceptionally well in major championships throughout his career, with seven top-10 finishes in 10 starts.
· Rollercoaster Willie Mack III wins the Shippen Invitational to earn spot at Rocket Mortgage Classic
Kaulig Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio
Kaulig Companies Championship and Davey Tree Team Up to Plant Trees in Northeast Ohio
Akron, Ohio – The Kaulig Companies Championship and The Davey Tree Expert Company have teamed up for an impactful community initiative to help make Northeast Ohio greener. Through the “Birdies ‘Fore’ Trees” program, the two Northeast Ohio-based organizations have pledged to plant a tree for every birdie made by a PGA TOUR Champions professional on Firestone Country Club’s signature 16th hole during the 2024 Kaulig Companies Championship from July 11-14.
The Kaulig Companies Championship team, Davey Tree employees, as well as community leaders will gather in the coming months for the inaugural tree planting event. The exact location of the event, as well as additional details regarding how the trees will be distributed, will be announced later.
“The Kaulig Companies Championship is excited to partner with Davey Tree to improve our region,” said Don Padgett, Executive Director of the Kaulig Companies Championship. “Birdies Fore Trees is a platform that will have long lasting impact on Northeast Ohio and fits well with our overall sustainability program for the golf tournament.”
PGA Champions Tour: The Ally Challenge is honoring Vets in multiple ways
The Ally Challenge has several initiatives to honor those who have military service to the US. This includes a special breakfast for vets with Folds of Honor founder and CEO Lt Col Dan Rooney.
Admission includes access to the Dow VET Den on Hole No. 18

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament officials announced today that complimentary admission to The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren is available to members of the United States Armed Forces (Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retirees) and veterans courtesy of Dow.
U.S. Armed Forces and veteran admission to the tournament includes access to the Dow VET Den located on the 18th green at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. Guests will enjoy premium golf viewing and complimentary snacks and beverages. The Dow VET Den is open Thursday (7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.), Friday (11 a.m.–6 p.m.), Saturday (8 a.m.–5 p.m.), and Sunday (9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.), August 22–25.
