Three forwards recognized in Three Stars balloting
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Three Stars of the Week for the second week of hockey competition (Oct. 11-12).
First Star
Cole Knuble, Notre Dame
So. – F – Grand Rapids, Mich. — Fargo (USHL)
- Helped No. 20/18 Notre Dame to a pair of road wins against ECAC Hockey opponents, producing three goals and an assist on the weekend
- Notched the game-winning tally Friday in a season-opening 4-1 win at St. Lawrence, finishing with eight shots on goal
- Netted a power play goal with 21 seconds left in the second period Saturday — the first of five unanswered goals by the Irish in a 5-2 win over Clarkson
- Receives second career weekly award, previously named Second Star on Jan. 3, 2024
- Last Notre Dame Star: Ryan Bischel (First Star, Feb. 20, 2024)
Second Star
Connor Kurth, Minnesota
Jr. – F – Lindstrom, Minn. – Dubuque (USHL)
- Jumped started Minnesota’s season with a hat trick and four-point night in a 7-1 victory over Air Force at the Ice Breaker in Las Vegas on Oct. 11
- Game-winning goal against the Falcons propelled No. 5/5 Minnesota into the tournament championship game where Kurth contributed two of the team’s 54 shots on goal
- Finished with eight shots and a plus-five rating on the weekend to earn a spot on the Ice Breaker All-Tournament Team
- The Academic All-Big Ten selection secures first career Star award

Third Star
Charlie Stramel, Michigan State
Jr. – F – Rosemount, Minn. – Wisconsin (NCAA)
- Sparked Michigan State’s 4-3 come-from-behind win over No. 2/2 Boston College Saturday for the 600th win all-time at Munn Ice Arena
- Scored twice against the Eagles; won 76.5 percent of his faceoffs and blocked two shots
- Went 18-for-28 (.643) from the faceoff dot and blocked three shots in the series for the No. 4/4 Spartans
- Collects second career Big Ten award, was named Third Star while playing for Wisconsin on Dec. 12, 2023
