By Roy J. Akers- Pennsylvania traveled west to test their meddle against six MAC women’s golf teams and several other mid power schools shooting nearly par as a team in a tune-up for conference championships later this month. Penn was under par on day one at Stone Ridge Golf Club and used a consistent score on both Saturday and Sunday for the win by ten shots.
Medalist honors go to Pennsylvania’s Julie Shin who was rock solid shooting (69-70-139) for five under for the two-day tournament. Marcy Hanus of Toledo and Charissa Shang of Harvard finished two shots back in a two-way tie for second place. In all, five players were under par for the tournament. Six schools placed golfers in the top 11 including those that finished in a four-way tie for 11th.
