College Hockey: CCHA Players of the Month

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Month for November and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Connor Milburn (Lake Superior State) was named Forward of the Month, while Chase Foley (St. Thomas) was the Defenseman of the Month. Alex Tracy (Minnesota State) collected the Goaltender of the Month honors and Joey DelGreco (Augustana) was the Rookie of the Month.

CCHA Forward of the Month: Connor Milburn, Jr., Lake Superior State (Kamloops, B.C.) 

Milburn led all CCHA skaters with 14 points in 10 November contests, recording six goals and eight assists to lead the Lakers to a 6-3-1 month (5-1-0 CCHA). Amassing a league-best five multi-point games, he netted two power-play tallies, while two of his goals came unassisted. For the month, he totaled 16 shots on goal and six blocks at the defensive end of the ice. He had a three-point game (1 goal, 2 assists) at St. Thomas on November 29 and a three-assist outing on November 8.

CCHA Defenseman of the Month: Chase Foley, Gr., St. Thomas (Mendota Heights, Minn.) 

Foley recorded a goal and seven assists for eight points in 10 games during November, while blocking 17 shots at the defensive end. The blueliner recorded at least one point in seven of the Tommies’ 10 games, including his first goal for St. Thomas on November 29 against Lake Superior State. He had 17 shots on goal during the month, which was highlighted by a two-point outing against Minnesota State on November 8.

CCHA Goaltender of the Month: Alex Tracy, Jr., Minnesota State (Chicago, Ill.) 

Tracy led all CCHA netminders in goals-against average (1.23) and save percentage (.955) during the month of November, posting a 5-1-2 record with one shutout. Over 488:12 minutes, he made 212 total saves, which ranked third in the conference. Allowing one of fewer goals in six of 10 starts, his month was highlighted by stopping 43-of-44 shots in a 1-0 loss at Bemidji State on November 1 and turning away all 21 shots in a 3-0 shutout of Northern Michigan on November 15.

CCHA Rookie of the Month: Joey DelGreco, Fr., Augustana (Grand Rapids, Minn.) 

DeGreco produced CCHA rookie-bests in goals (5), assists (4) and points (9) in the month of the November, helping the Vikings to a 5-3-0 record. His 1.13 point per game ranked third among all league skaters and he totaled 15 shots on goal during the month. He carries a career-best, seven-game point streak into this weekend’s action, which includes two multi-point contests.
