It’s a good day for Ole Miss in the AP Top 25 rankings. The Rebels — who held off Lane Kiffin and LSU 32-24 on Saturday night — jumped over the Tigers and three other teams to land at No. 4.
Making their season debut in the poll are No. 21 Florida, which is 3-0 for the first time since 2019, and No. 24 Mississippi State. That leaves the Southeastern Conference with 10 ranked teams this week.
Texas A&M took the biggest fall, going from No. 9 to No. 23 after its 31-21 home loss to unranked Kentucky. Louisville was the biggest gainer, rising seven spots to No. 16 after its 41-31 victory over SMU.
Texas was No. 1 for the second straight week, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Indiana. Miami, Ohio State, Alabama, BYU and LSU completed the top 10. That’s a three-spot slip for the Tigers.
Games to watch next weekend:
- SEC: No. 1 Texas travels to No. 14 Tennessee in a marquee SEC showdown at Neyland Stadium. No. 4 Ole Miss faces newly ranked No. 21 Florida, No. 23 Texas A&M takes on No. 10 LSU and No. 19 Missouri visits a No. 24 Mississippi State.
- Big Ten: No. 17 Iowa and No. 18 Michigan go head-to-head in a matchup with major Big Ten implications. And No. 20 Oregon visits No. 12 USC, looking to rebound from its Week 2 loss to Oklahoma State
