  • Week 7 is all about Big Ten play with seven games scheduled for this weekend. A rematch of the last two CFP champions is set for Saturday when No. 5 Indiana hosts No. 4 Ohio State at noon ET on FOX.
  • Wisconsin will take on UCLA for the first time since the Bruins joined the Big Ten this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The programs last battled in the 2000 Sun Bowl, a 21-20 win for the Badgers. UCLA holds a 7-4 edge in the series, but Wisconsin has won the last three matchups.
  • Nebraska and Oregon will meet for the first time as Big Ten opponents on Saturday at 11 p.m. ET on FOX in Eugene, Ore. The two teams haven’t played since the 2017 season and the Huskers lead the all-time series, 6-2.
  • Michigan will host Penn State at the Big House for the 14th time this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The Wolverines are headed into the matchup with a 9-4 advantage in the series.
  • Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith continues to cement his legacy among the Big Ten’s record holders. Heading into the weekend, Smith has 38 career receiving touchdowns and needs just two more to break the Big Ten record held by Michigan’s Braylon Edwards (39 TD, 2001-04). Smith also has 3,474 career receiving yards, just 315 shy of overtaking Purdue’s John Standeford (3,788 yds, 2000-03) for the record.
  • Dating back to the 2025 campaign, Indiana has won 22 straight games (including bowl and Big Ten Championship Game records). The Hoosiers are on the longest active streak in FBS, the sixth-longest streak in FBS in the CFP era and tied for the fourth-longest Big Ten-win streak since 1945.
  • UCLA improved to 5-0 with a 17-15 road victory at No. 13 Oregon, its first win in Eugene since 2004 and first road win versus a ranked opponent since 2019.
  • The Big Ten had nine teams included in both this week’s AP and US LBM Coaches Polls. The AP poll featured No. 4 Ohio State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 12 UCLA, No. 17 Iowa, No. 19 USC and No. 25 Northwestern, while Wisconsin, Oregon and Nebraska received votes. UCLA was the lone team whose ranking remained the same in the coaches’ poll with shifts for No. 4 Indiana, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 15 USC, No. 16 Iowa and No. 25 Oregon. Northwestern, Nebraska and Wisconsin also earned votes.
  • The Big Ten Football Players of the Week were announced Monday with Purdue’s Fame Ijeboi being selected as the Offensive Player of the Week. Ijeboi led Purdue to a dominant 41-13 win over Minnesota with career highs in carries (31), yards (195) and touchdowns (3). His 195 rushing yards were the most by a Boilermaker since 2017 and the 15th most in program history.
  • UCLA’s Jalen Woods was named Defensive Player of the Week after totaling a team-high nine tackles in a 17-15 triumph at No. 13 Oregon. Woods matched his career mark with 2.0 TFL and was part of a defense that held the Ducks to their fewest points since 2022.
  • Illinois’ Ethan Moczulski earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition. Moczulski went 3-for-3 on field goals and extra points in Illinois’ 38-37 overtime win at Michigan State. He set a career high with three field goals made, hitting from 40, 35 and 38 yards.
  • USC wide receiver Trent Mosley was tabbed as the Freshman of the Week. Mosley paced all players with nine receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown in a 31-23 road win at Penn State. He gave the Trojans an early lead with a 19-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and finished with nine catches on 13 targets and 40 yards after the catch.
  • The 2026 Discover Big Ten Championship Game will be played on Saturday, December 5, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast by FOX. The winner will represent the conference as the Automatic Qualifier (AQ) to the College Football Playoff.
  • Abbott and the Big Ten Conference kicked off Season 3 of the We Give Blood drive on August 26. Donations are tracked in real-time until December 4. The school with the most donations at the end will be announced on December 5 at the 2026 Discover Big Ten Championship Game. Every donation can help save up to three lives — and someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds. The leaderboard can be found on page 6.
  • Indiana captured its first national title last season with a 27-21 victory over Miami (Fla.) in the 2026 College Football Playoff at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla. The Hoosiers capped off the season as the only team in college football history to go 16-0.
  • The Big Ten has claimed three consecutive College Football Playoff championships by three different universities (Indiana 2026, Ohio State 2025, Michigan 2024).
  • With national championships in football and men’s and women’s basketball, the Big Ten became the second conference to sweep football and basketball national titles since 1981-82. The Big Ten is the only conference to achieve the feat with three different schools.
