College Hockey: Big Ten/CCHA Schedules and Top Stat Getters

The Big Ten and CCHA are taking different scheduling paths this weekend with the former playing non conference games and the latter largely playing conference matchups.

Big Ten Schedule

Independent Lindenwood travels to No. 1 Michigan State for a single game matchup. Ohio State travels to Princeton. No. 3 Minnesota hosts the Alaska Nanooks. Alaska Anchorage travels to Wisconsin. No. 6 Michigan has a home and home against No. 7 Western Michigan. Notre Dame is in Europe playing in a tournament.

The CCHA Schedule

Northern Michigan is traveling to Augustana this week for a pair of games. Lake Superior State is at St. Thomas. In a matchup that shows a surprising Michigan Tech team traveling to Bowling Green for their only matchup this season.

Top Scorers in the NCAA in the B1G and CCHA

The University of Denver just had their 21-game winning streak stopped by Arizona State and scoring has been the key to their success. Three of the top nine NCAA scorers play for the formerly No.1 team in the country. Jack Devine has one lone goal among his 23 points. His teammate Aiden Thompson has 10 goals and 12 assists. Zeev Buium, the top flight defenseman has three goals and 13 assists. Among Big Ten Teams, Aiden Fink of Penn State is ranked third with 8 goals and 13 assists. Minnesota has three players in the top nine in the country with forward Jimmy Snuggerud 4th in points with seven goals and 13 assists. Michigan’s Michael Hage, the Freshman has a line of (8-8-16 points).

NCAA/CCHA Goaltending

The Big Ten has the leading goaltender in the country, Kristoffer Eberly of Ohio State. he has played in only five games and sports a 1.29 GAA. Minnesota’s Liam Souliere has played in only six games and is third in the NCAA with a 1.49 GAA. The CCHA’s Alex Tracy of Minnesota State is second in goaltending GAA with a 1.37. He has also ten wins on the season (10-4-2). Western Michigan (NCHC) sports two goaltenders in the top nine. Hampton Slukynsky is 7th with a 1.58 GAA and teammate Cameron Rowe is 9th at 1.59 . The WMU tandem is (8-1-1).
