Bracket Announced for 2025 Big Ten Hockey Tournament
Pairings and seedings set for tournament which begins March 7
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference released the bracket for the 2025 Big Ten Hockey Tournament on Saturday, a three-weekend event that will have all games hosted by higher-seeded teams.
Michigan State and Minnesota finished as the first co-champions in Big Ten Hockey history with the Spartans earning the No. 1 seed based on a tiebreaker. The 12th Big Ten Tournament begins March 7-9 with three best-of-three quarterfinal series. No. 2 seed Minnesota (24-8-4) will host No. 7 seed Notre Dame (10-23-1), No. 3 seed Ohio State (21-11-2) will entertain No. 6 seed Wisconsin (12-19-3) and No. 4 seed Michigan (18-13-3) will host No. 5 seed Penn State (18-12-4).
As the top-seeded team, Michigan State (24-6-4) will have a bye to the single-elimination semifinals, which are scheduled for March 15. The highest-seeded team advancing from the quarterfinals will host the second-highest advancing team, while the lowest-seeded advancing team will play at Michigan State.
The highest-seeded team remaining after the semifinals will host the single-elimination championship game on Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The quarterfinals will be streamed on B1G+ with the semifinals and championship game carried by the Big Ten Network.
The tournament champion will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
