Eight CCHA teams are in action this weekend, including the first conference series of the year, with defending MacNaughton Cup Champion Bemidji State visiting Ferris State. No. 16/18 Minnesota State concludes its six-game homestand against No. 16/19 Omaha, while St. Thomas faces No. 5/5 Minnesota in a home-and-home series that concludes on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center. Augustana heads to 12/14 St. Cloud State for a pair and Bowling Green battles No. 17/19 Ohio State in a home-and-home.

Unbeaten Michigan Tech hosts Clarkson and Northern Michigan welcomes Arizona State, highlighting a home weekend for a pair of Upper Peninsula programs.

The Falcons look to hand the Buckeyes their first loss of the year on Friday, when they head to Columbus to open a home-and-home series. Bowling Green, which is coming off a 2-1 overtime victory at RIT, owns a 94-79-9 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to 1969.

The Bulldogs welcome Bemidji State to Big Rapids for top open the conference schedule. The lone league series on tap this weekend features a rematch of a 2024 Mason Cup Playoffs opening round series, which the Beavers claimed in two games, en route to winning their second MacNaughton Cup in program history. BSU leads the all-time series 23-20-6.

The unbeaten Huskies welcome Clarkson to “The Mac” for a two-game set this weekend after the Golden Knights swept a series in Potsdam, N.Y., last year. Clarkson owns a 6-3-1 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1962. Michigan Tech’s last victory in the series came on Oct. 29, 2021 – a 3-0 road win.

The Tommies and fifth-ranked Gophers renew their rivalry which saw its beginning a season ago. After a thrilling 6-5 overtime victory at the Xcel Energy Center, Minnesota shut out St. Thomas, 3-0, in Minneapolis to sweep the series. Coming off a bye week, St. Thomas picked up a tie and a win against Vermont two weeks ago. This year’s series begins at Mariucci Arena on Friday, before shifting to the “X” on Saturday night.

No. 16/18 Minnesota State concludes its season-long, six-game homestand this weekend when No. 16/19 Omaha comes to town for a two-game series. The battle for the “Spirit of the Mavericks” trophy, which currently resides with UNO, is on the line, with Minnesota State leading the all-time series 18-16-5. The home-standing Mavericks already have two ranked victories under their belt.

Northern Michigan will look to answer a road sweep at the hands of Arizona State last year, falling 3-2 and 5-1 in Tempe last October. The home-standing Wildcats picked up their first win of the year last weekend, taking the opening game of their home series with Alaska Anchorage, 2-1.
