Add another exciting chapter to the “Year of Three” for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, this one surrounding the most-watched event on American television each year.
FOX will feature all three of its driver-focused promotions for its inaugural season of NTT INDYCAR SERIES coverage during the network’s telecast of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 9 in New Orleans. The Super Bowl audience is massive, with last year’s game between the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers attracting more than 120 million viewers.
The previously released promotional ads featuring Josef Newgarden and Alex Palou will be joined by the newest spot featuring Pato O’Ward during the broadcast.
Massive exposure for the three ad spots during the Super Bowl telecast continues a trend of important events surrounding the numeral three in the 2025 season. Newgarden is attempting to win the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge for an unprecedented third straight year, while Palou is trying to become just the fourth driver in INDYCAR SERIES history to win three consecutive championships, joining Ted Horn (1946-48), Sebastien Bourdais (2004-07) and Dario Franchitti (2009-11).
It’s also a “year of three” for the NFL, as the Chiefs try to become the first team in league history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Newgarden and Palou also will appear in their NTT INDYCAR SERIES team fire suits during the Super Bowl LIX pre-game show on FOX, which includes Pro Football Hall of Famer and 2025 Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge Pace Car driver Michael Strahan on its panel.
The Indy 500 Green Flag Relay also will start in the Super Bowl spotlight in New Orleans with Newgarden and Palou. The popular annual event sees the green flag that will wave to start “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” traveling to various locations around the country and the world leading up to the Month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
NTT INDYCAR SERIES veteran Jack Harvey also will participate in a tailgate event in New Orleans with sponsor INVST. The exclusive “Player’s Tailgate” celebration features world-class chefs, celebrities and music, and the No. 24 Chevrolet that Harvey will drive this May in the Indy 500 will be on display.
The 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season starts with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding on Sunday, March 2 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. FOX’s live coverage starts at noon ET, the first of all 17 series races to be broadcast on the network this season.
