Boyne Resorts has been in business as a resort since 1948, when Everett Kircher actually bought some property at Boyne Mountain for a dollar. Many know he was not in the golf business, but the snow business and wanted to drive guests to his resorts in the summertime. Ken Griffin spent the first part of his career competing against Boyne, then gradually working alongside and then as a member of the Boyne team. He worked with the legendary Bernie Friedrich and a team that had turned the northern LP resort into one of the most sought-after resorts in the country. Griffen explains servant leadership, the renovation of the golf courses, and the Michigan tourism industry in part 1.
