Two-Minute Drill

• In front of a record-setting crowd of 26,740 fans, Ohio triumphed in a thrilling 17-10 win against West Virginia for the MAC’s first Fly the Flag victory of 2025. The Bobcats rattled off 17 straight points to build a double-digit lead at halftime. In the second half, Ohio’s defense allowed just 50 yards and three points to secure the victory. This marked Ohio’s second win over a Big 12 opponent in the last three seasons (Iowa State, 2023). Chase Hendricks paced the offensive attack with 121 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight receptions. The running game for Ohio also found a lot of success, with 182 total rushing yards, including 87 from graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro  and 66 from redshirt senior running back Sieh Bangura. Ohio’s trio of linebackers stood out in the matchup, with redshirt juniors Michael Molnar and Jack Fries each recording seven tackles. Molnar led Ohio with 1.5 sacks. Graduate student linebacker Cameron Hollobaugh made one of the biggest plays of the game with a fourth-quarter interception in Ohio territory.

• The Toledo Rockets dominated Western Kentucky from start to finish in a 45-21 victory in front of 24,138 fans at the Glass Bowl on Saturday night. With the win, Jason Candle became the winningest coach in Toledo history (74 victories). Chip Trayanum paced the rushing attack with a career-high 163 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He also caught his first career TD reception. Tucker Gleason completed 7-of-12 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Vandeross III led UT receivers with five receptions for 122 yards and one score. The Toledo defense limited the Hilltoppers to just 59 yards on the ground while forcing two turnovers. The Rockets jumped out to a 14-0 advantage just three minutes into the contest thanks to a fumble recovery and a 37-yard pick-six by Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. After a Western Kentucky touchdown, Toledo reeled off 17 more points to take a 31-7 lead into halftime. 

• Buffalo cruised past Saint Francis, 45-6, in its home opener at UB Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls rushed for 370 yards in the win – their highest rushing total since 2020. Buffalo’s defense held the Red Flash to just 11 yards rushing and 126 yards of total offense. The Bulls did not attempt a punt in the game and scored on seven of their ten possessions. Ta’Quan Roberson threw for 133 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 88 yards and two scores to pace the offense. Henderson rushed for a game-high 98 yards and two touchdowns.
