• Victor Snow caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Taquan Roberson with 1:03 left to help Buffalo defeat Kent State, 31-28, in its conference opener at Dix Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Roberson had the best game of his early UB career, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns. He engineered an offense that tallied 467 yards of total offense. Mitchell Gonser had 11 tackles, a sack and three tackles for loss to pace the defense. Fellow linebacker Red Murdock had 10 tackles in the game. Miles Greer tied his best effort as a Bull with nine tackles and added a blocked punt.

• Qua Ashley and Kiael Kelly thrived in the run game to help Ball State earn a 34-29 win over New Hampshire in its home opener. Head coach Mike Uremovich celebrated his first program win in front of a home crowd of 10,512. The Cardinals rushed for a total of 308 yards, the most at Scheumann Stadium since 2019. Ashley finished with 154 rushing yards along with two rushing touchdowns. Ashley was also on the receiving end of a Kelly throw in the third quarter, bringing his touchdown total to three on the day. Kelly’s 105 passing yards and 102 rushing yards cemented him as the first Ball State player since 2000 with at least 100 yards in both categories in a single game. He completed nine of his 15 attempts for two touchdowns.

• Toledo used a record-setting second quarter to bulldoze their way to a 60-0 victory over Morgan State at the Glass Bowl on Saturday. After leading by just a field goal in the first quarter, Toledo scored 43 points against the Bears in the second quarter to take a commanding 46-0 lead into the locker room. The 43 points were the most scored by a Toledo squad in one quarter in its 109-year history.

• Bowling Green sent a large Homecoming crowd home happy, picking up a 23-13 win over Liberty on Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Drew Pyne threw for 146 yards, while Kaderris Roberts and Chris McMillian each ran for over 50 yards in the win. Jackson Kleather was a perfect 3-for-3 in field-goal attempts on the night, including a 50-yarder that gave BG a 16-7 lead early in the fourth period.
