The finale of silly season is here.
The 2025 PNC Championship kicks off Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The 36-hole competition, which pits a former major champion playing alongside a family member, started in 1995. Lee Trevino is the only player who has been in the field for every edition of the event.
The field contains eight former world No. 1s and six past champions, including reigning champion and record six-time winner, Bernhard Langer. The 20 professionals have won more than 40 major titles and more than 900 international titles. The only player making his debut this year is 41-year-old Gary Woodland, who returned to professional golf early last year after undergoing successful surgery for a brain tumor in September 2023. He will be partnering with his father, Dan.
Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie, will not be in the field this year as pops continues recovery from back surgery. Last year, they lost to Team Langer in a playoff.
