Joliet, Ill. — With NASCAR returning to Chicagoland for the eero400, nearly half of the starting grid has never raced at the track. Some drivers like Kyle Larson wonder if the top groove will be safe to drive, and others took to driving all over the track from the start of CUP practice. Denny Hamlin is on the pole, the fourth straight non-road race he starts out front.
Media Picks
Steve Sweitzer- www.thelascopress.com –Chase Elliott Favorite Darkhorse: Zane Smith, 100th start, why not!
Roy J. Akers — www.skyviewsports.net. It is difficult to go against Denny Hamlin, but Chris Buescher is the pick. He is Q-7 and is way overdue to win. He just might be the best overall driver in the CUP series. My darkhorse is: Brad Keselowski- good Chicagoland history for the 18th-place driver.
