Beat up t-shirts, a driver that looked like Woody from Toy Story, Social Media hits, left turns and boobs and more.
After talking to drivers and being in scrum sessions… these are the observations before we get to actual comments.
-Drivers do NOT like the off week. They want to race. Not too sure about the fathers, but there you go.
- Qualifying does not matter at drafting much
- Tires will not come into play at Talladega
- Drivers do not like driving at half-throttle
- Don’t Chickenfoot in front of Cletus Dale Jr.
Cletus McFarland on The Boulevard at Talladega

“Let me tell you something about the Boulevard. I like to preach the freedom of living in America. I did not know the true meaning of freedom on Talladega Boulevard. I can’t get into the details but what happens on Talladega Boulevard has to stay there. If I posted some of the things I saw, my channel would be deleted. … When you go to Talladega Boulevard, you’re seeing purebred Americans enjoying life to the maximum. They love boobs and turning left. “

Carson Hocevar on Social Media
Did you know Rodney Childers was going to get fired this week? “ Yes, we had a feeling.”
Roy J. Akers asked: On social media, Cleetus McFarland said the struggle of racing and part breaking gets him a ton of hits. “First off, I hope we do not have those. I saw somebody post a TikTok of a fuel problem and what not at Daytona. Now it’s at two million hits so far.”

Cleetus McFarland- On his best videos for hits
“To me, looking from the outside, the Cup teams are so dialed in, locked in. They are behind the scenes, having some shit show days for the lack of a better word and people love to see this. My best hits are when I am not having my best day. My car is blowing a rod. People love those days for some reason. It is hard some days to post it. When some driver is dialed into making a You Tube video…..

Kyle Larson
Larson asked on if he has momentum after dominating at Bristol. ” I race so often that a week of racing can seem like a long, long time ago.” Larson practiced at Indy to prepare for the Indy 500 and did Hi Limit Dirt Racing on Friday.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
DO YOU HAVE A MOMENT THAT STANDS OUT AS THAT DEFINING MOMENT IN YOUR MEMORY OF AVOIDING THE BIG CRASH OR MAKING THE RACE-WINNING MOVE?
“Honestly, I haven’t gone back and watched the 2017 one in a while. Saw some highlights that Roush posted the other day. But yeah, missing a wreck is very vital in that. I think in 2017 we got some damage and went to the back and ended up missing the big wreck, which was obviously key. I would say the race in the fall here, the biggest thing we did was that we were one of the best as saving fuel. So that made our green flag pit stop faster, and got onto and off of pit road and into the lead, which ultimately put us in position to miss the last wreck again. We got some damage from it, but we were in the best place possible when that wreck happened. I would say that was definitely the defining moment. Us executing on pit road as well as we did and that is the name of the game now, especially when it comes to speedway racing. How can you spend less time on pit road on the last stop. That is the easiest way to jump track position. I felt like we nailed it then and hopefully we can do that again.”

Kyle Busch
Q- Does qualifying matter at superspeedway anymore? Busch: “No, maybe a little bit of pride, a little bit of bragging rights.”
