NCAA Golf: Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational Final Results leave MSU and CMU wanting more

The Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational has just concluded and Tahoku Fakushi goes really low and holds off Santa Clara and Bringham Young for team medalist honors. MSU finished 6th, and CMU rallied for 13th. This NAPA Valley tournament pitted 14 universities, and the Spartans finished 6th and the Chippawas 13th.

Central Michigan and MSU

The host CMU team got off to a rough start before leveling out in the three round/two-day event. Highlights for CMU include moving from 14th to 13th in the tournament and playing much better after a rough opening team round.

CMU

The Chippawas had seven team birdies on the days final day and 32 bogeys or worse. Easton Phillips put together a par round of 72.

MSU- 6th

MSU had ten birdies in the final round to 23 bogeys or worse. Lorenzo Pinelli finished tenth in the tournament with a (-1) 215. MSU finished mid pack team wise on the Par 3’s and 4’s and near the bottom of the 14 teams on the Par- 5’s.
