College golf’s championship season is that much closer to crowning a national champ.
The six regional championship sites that featured 12 teams and six individuals (72 teams and 36 individuals, total) concluded play either Tuesday or Wednesday, and there were plenty of stellar performances and even some upsets. The top-five teams (30 total) and the top individual (six total) not on a qualifying team from each regional advanced to the national championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s North Course in Carlsbad, California, May 16-21.

Advancing individual: Marie Madsen, N.C. State
Star performance: South Carolina. The SEC champs won by 11 shots with T-4 finishes from its trio of Hannah Darling, Louise Rydqvist and Eila Galitsky. With those three playing well, the Gamecocks could very well bring home an NCAA title, too.
Keep an eye on: UCLA. The Bruins finished as national runners-up last year but have a roster with plenty of new faces after losing its two best players midseason. It didn’t matter, and now the Bruins are returning to nationals close to home.
Columbus Regional

Advancing teams: 1. Kansas, 2. Arkansas, 3. Ohio State, 4. UNLV, 5. LSU
Individual winner: Lyla Louderbaugh, Kansas, 12 under
Advancing individual: Moa Svedenskiold, Houston
Star performance: Kansas. The Jayhawks are regional champions, picking up win No. 6 on the year. And that happened in big part because of Louderbaugh, who won medalist honors by eight(!!!) shots. The first regional champion in Kansas history and returning to the Big Dance for the first time since 2014.
Keep an eye on: Arkansas. The Razorbacks have been one of the best teams in the country all season, and a second-place finish at the regional proves that. With Maria Jose Marin and Kendall Todd leading the way, Arkansas could make a run if it reaches match play.
Gold Canyon Regional

Individual winner: Kiara Romero, Oregon, 16 under

Star performance: CSU Fullerton. The 10th-seeded team finds its way into the NCAA field, taking Auburn’s spot after beating the Tigers by a shot to advance to Omni La Costa. Can CSU Fullerton now find its way into match play?
Keep an eye on: Oregon. The Ducks have won the Big 10 title and followed up it with a regional crown, too. After a semifinal appearance, Oregon, and star Romero, are finding their stride at the right time.

Keep an eye on: Florida State. The Seminoles are led by the dominant 1-2 punch of Lottie Woad and Mirabel Ting, who tied for second at the regional. With those two playing as well as they have been, Florida State has an excellent chance to win a national title.
Lubbock Regional

Advancing teams: 1. Wake Forest, 2. Texas, 3. Iowa State, 4. Tennessee, 5. Purdue
Individual winner: Carolina Chacarra, Wake Forest, 7 under

Keep an eye on: Wake Forest. The ACC runners-up seem to be finding form at the right time. The Demon Deacons won the national title two years ago and are the only team to beat Stanford in any format this year (semis of ACC Match Play). Perhaps a dark-horse title contender.
Norman Regional
Winning team: Stanford, 22 under
Advancing teams: 1. Stanford, 2. Northwestern, 3. Michigan State; 4. Oklahoma, 5. Baylor
Individual winner: Andrea Revuelta, Stanford, 8 under
Advancing individual: Audrey Ryu, Furman
Star performance: Oklahoma. The hosts were outside of the cut line after each of the first two days, but 3-under performances in the second and final rounds helped the Sooners advance to nationals.
