Grand Blanc, Mich.- The 7th edition of the Ally Challenge kicks off the week of August 19th featuring Country music superstar Thomas Rhett will headline the seventh annual Ally Community Concert. Ally Bank has always outdone themselves during the playing of the Ally Challenge PGA Champions Tour event. Ally has held the Celebrity Challenge for most of the tournament years and Jack Nicklaus has been the host on the Saturday of the event. The celebrity challenge has featured Detroit area professional athletes, PGA legend Lee Trevino and Kid Rock.
Many of the events at the event are being featured at the 17th green, made famous by both rowdy fans and dramatic play by the golfers. This year, alternative rock group Smash Mouth will make an appearance at the 17th hole. No announcement of a celebrity challenge by any golfers has happened thus far but that is usually kept under wraps by Ally until just before the tournament and a media representative said they will have an announcement soon.
The star of the show has always been the golfers. The commitment’s are light so far with defending champion Vijay Singh and former Ally winner Jim Furyk among them. Most players will commit this week. We will update this a couple of times as we get closer to the event.
This tournament is a great family event and a chance to show yesterdays PGA stars still have it competing at a very high level on the 50+ circuit at Warwick. Links to buy tickets, the schedule of events and more are above.
