KETTERING, Ohio — Posting a career-low 212 (-1) 54-hole total, freshman Jordan Hwang led the University of Michigan men’s golf team to an 11th-place finish with an 855-team total at the Moraine Intercollegiate, hosted by Miama (Ohio) at Moraine Country Club. With the event’s completion, the Wolverines wrapped up their five-tournament fall schedule.
Michigan opened the two-day, 54-hole event with team rounds of 287 and 286 to position itself 12th after 36 holes. Returning for the final round, sophomore RJ Arone used four birdies and 13 pars to post a closing 68 (-3), while fellow sophomore Dean Muratore tallied five birdies and 10 pars for a 69 (-2), helping the Maize and Blue record the second-lowest team total of the day at 282 (-2).
Behind that late surge, U-M finished with an 855 (+3) aggregate to close the fall campaign 11th overall.
Leading the Wolverines for the first time, Hwang’s career-low 212 (-1) earned him a career-best tie for 24th — his first top-25 finish. Arone tied for 28th with a 213 (E) total, while Muratore followed in a tie for 32nd at 214 (+1).
With the fall season complete, Michigan transitions into its winter training schedule in preparation for the spring slate. The Wolverines will return to tournament play in 2026, when they head back to Puerto Rico for the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate, Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 8-10, at Palmas del Mar Country Club.
