WHAT: Entries are now closed for the 2025 Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, featuring a world-class field of major champions, past champions and the world’s top-ranked players. The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give will take place June 12-15 at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan.
The tournament field is headlined by defending champion and World No. 7 Lilia Vu, who captured her fifth LPGA Tour victory in 2024 via a playoff over 2015 champion Lexi Thompson. Both are entered into the championship this week.
Tournament officials also announced the 2025 sponsor exemptions:
Maria Fassi. A two-time Olympian representing Mexico and All-American from the University of Arkansas. She finished runner-up to Jennifer Kupcho in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2019. She turned professional in 2019 following graduation and has competed full-time on the LPGA Tour.
Carolina Lopez-Chacarra. The 2025 Inkster Award presented Workday winner, awarded to the highest-ranked women’s Division I (DI) collegiate golfer in her final year of eligibility for the 2024-2025 college golf season. The award is named after Juli Inkster, a World Golf Hall of Fame member and LPGA legend who was a three-time All-American at San Jose State (1979-1982). Lopez-Chacarra, a fourth-year senior, finished the season as the top-ranked DI women’s college golfer in her senior season, finishing sixth overall in the country.
Bailey Davis. A 22-year old graduating senior from the University of Tennessee and a four-year member of the Lady Vols golf program, Davis earned a tournament sponsor exemption via winning the JOHN SHIPPEN Women’s Invitational presented by Dow, which took place last week at Plum Hollow Country Club in Southfield, Michigan. Daily turned in rounds of 68 and 76 to earn a four-stroke victory. Davis was the first amateur to win THE JOHN SHIPPEN Women’s Invitational in its five-year history. The JOHN SHIPPEN National Invitational is a series of competitions created to provide playing opportunities on the LPGA and PGA TOUR for the nation’s top Black amateur and professional female and male golfers.
They will join a 144-player field that also features:
