Detroit, Mich. — The women’s US Open is being led by experienced TOUR players, but the college players are coming. They get better every year. They are hitting it longer, are better prepared, and most of their parents are turning it over to professionals to shape their daughters careers. The 2025 Women’s US Open is showcasing several players. Here is how they did.
Paula Martin Sampedro- Soph. Stanford

From Madrid, Spain, Sampedro is already mastering both team and individual golf. She put together rounds of 72-74- 146. She is going places and let’s look at her NCAA Career so far.

Lottie Woad- Jr. FSU- London, England
After making the cut at the 2025 Women’s US Open, Woad… finishes T-31st


Woad enrolled at Florida State University in 2022 and started playing with the Florida State Seminoles women’s golf team. She was WGCA Freshman of the Year, and as a junior FSU Female Athlete of the Year and ACC Golfer of the Year. In April 2024, Woad won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. In May, she finished runner-up to Adéla Cernousek in the individual competition at the NCAA Division I women’s golf championship. Her T-31 finish comes after a +7 weekend. She was -2 the first two days of the Open. She’s ready for the LPGA now.

O’Keefe nearly equals Woad at this tournament. Terrific scores for an amateur at a professional-dominated event. One under after two rounds. O’Keefe finishes +7.

Carolina Lopez-Chacarra
Carolina Lopez-Chacarra- Soph. Wake Forrest
DUBLIN, Ohio – May 28, 2025 –Three-time All-American and Wake Forest University senior Carolina Lopez-Chacarra has been named the recipient of the 2025 Inkster Award presented by Workday, recognizing the highest-ranked women’s Division I (DI) collegiate golfer in her final year of eligibility for the 2024-2025 college golf season. Lopez-Chacarra finishes the US Open T-36th.

The award is named after Juli Inkster, a World Golf Hall of Fame member and LPGA legend who was a three-time All-American at San José State (1979-1982). Inkster elected not to turn professional until finishing her four-year commitment to her school, winning 17 individual titles during her college career. The Inkster Award winner was announced onsite at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, a PGA TOUR event in Dublin, Ohio.

Romero has established herself as one of the top players in NCAA women’s golf and she has just completed her sophomore year. She finished the fourth round of the Women’s US Open with a 67. It is fair to say if she wants the LPGA Tour, she’s coming soon.

Kary Hollenbaugh- Soph. OSU
Hollenbaugh is another strong Buckeye’s player and Hollenbaugh is spectacular. She did NOT make the cut this year, but check out her career so far in Columbus.

- All 26 of her rounds counted towards team scores and she shot in the 60s five times
- Earned her first collegiate win at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational, where she fired an eight-under 136 over 36 holes, including a career-low 65 in the second round; was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week following her performance
- Tied for second place at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational, carding a three-round score of 214 (-2)
- Also earned a top-10 finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational, tying for fourth place with a 54-hole score of 216 (E)

Brooke Biermann Sr. MSU

Biermann carded an 80-72- 152 and did not make it to the weekend. Brooke Biermann Earns Honorable Mention All-America Honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
