The funny, the stupid and Joe Burrow’s honesty

Jameson Williams does not have a monopoly on poor decisions as a member of the Detroit Lions. Unlike Jameson, Jahmyr Gibbs took a lockerroom picture of backup running back Jermer Jefferson dancing after the Thanksgiving Day game and posted some of the Lions playbook and protections that anyone on another NFL team could use in a game. Legible code names for calls got out. The Lions will have to change the calls.
Asked Saturday about Gibbs’ post, Campbell was caught off guard.
“Oh I didn’t know that,” he said, asking the inquiring reporter to repeat the name of the player. “I did not know that. Yeah, I need to check on that then. Did not know that. Yeah, I’d rather our stuff not be out there.” Gibbs actions were spur of the moment. Most likely, the Lions will have to cover up the calls in the future to keep them from getting out to be seen among prying eyes.
Mike Tomlin: George Pickens has to grow up in a hurry
After the game, Head Coach Mike Tomlin addressed the issue directly, sending a strong and pointed message to Pickens in his postgame press conference. Tomlin emphasized the importance of discipline and accountability, making it clear that such penalties are unacceptable for a team striving for postseason success.
While he expressed confidence in Pickens’ talent and potential, Tomlin also made it clear that changes in behavior are necessary for the young wide receiver to maximize his impact on the field.
“You know he just has to grow up man,” Tomlin said when speaking about Pickens. “He’s got a target on his back because he’s George, but he has to grow up. He has to grow up in a hurry.”
The first penalty came when Pickens dropped the football on a Bengals defensive back after making a catch, drawing a taunting flag. In a heated rivalry game, emotions often run high, and players exchange words that can get under each other’s skin. Pickens, known for getting into frequent battles with defensive backs, let his emotions boil over, costing the Steelers 15 yards. Despite the setback, Pittsburgh managed to recover and scored a touchdown on the drive, tying the game at 14-14.
Joe Burrow said the disappointing Cinci season will test the team
The Bengals’ quarterback has been enjoying an MVP-caliber season, even if the team’s record doesn’t show it. Burrow has thrown for 30 touchdowns and just five interceptions this season, yet Cincinnati hasn’t been able to capitalize on his brilliance.
“I feel it. I feel it. I feel the pressure on me to be great. That is part of playing QB in the NFL. I have to play to the absolute peak of my ability each week to go and win,” said Burrow.
With the team facing an uphill and near impossible battle to reach the playoffs, Burrow admitted that the remaining few games will be very telling for the future of the Bengals.
“The cornerstones of this organization will be remembered by more than this. We will be remembered by how we handle this,” said Burrow of the team’s disappointing season and how the team will handle the remaining games.
The Dirty hit on the Jaguars Trevor Lawrence- Both Sides
Azeez Al-shaair-“I genuinely didn’t see him sliding until it was too late. And it all happens in the blink of an eye,” Al-Shaair said in a statement on his X account. “To Trevor i genuinely apologize to you for what ended up happening. Before the game we spoke and I told you how it was great to see you back out on the field and wished you well. I would never want to see any player hurt because of a hit I put on them especially one that’s deemed ‘late’ or ‘unnecessary.'”
Trevor Lawrence
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out / been praying for me. I’m home and feeling better. Means a lot, thank you all,” he wrote.
